Iraq bicycle competitions will be held in Erbil

ERBIL, July 11 (AKnews) – The Iraqi Cycling Federation (ICF) has decided the final cycling competitions be held in mid-July in Erbil city, the capital of the semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region.

The Iraqi cycling competitions are currently being held in Duhok city, the third largest city of Kurdistan Region, for both male and female athletes. The decision to hold the finals in Erbil came in an ICF meeting on Wednesday.

The competitions will last until July 15 in Duhok, but the finals “will be held in Erbil on July 16” said Ahmed Sabri of the ICF.

The first four teams from each age category will compete for the finals in Erbil that will start on July 16 and will end by July 21st.

The competitions will be vital for the Iraqi cyclists as the Iraqi team is preparing to participate in the Arab competitions that are expected to be held in September.
