Iraq's championship for Kurdish taekwondo clubs kicks off next week in Suli

ERBIL, July 10 (AKnews) - The vice president of the Iraqi Central Taekwondo Federation stated today that Iraq's championship for Kurdish taekwondo clubs for men and women will kick off in Sulaimaniya on Sunday.

Hussein Abdul Rahman said: "The tournament will continue for two days and five clubs from the three provinces of the region will be able participate in the upcoming tournament. The clubs will be selected after a local competition in each province.

"The Iraqi Central Taekwondo Federation will monitor closely the performance of the players in the tournament to choose the most prominent ones who will join the national taekwondo team."

All of the female players in the Iraqi taekwondo team are Kurds and live in Erbil province.
