BAGHDAD, March 30 (AKnews)- Apart from competing to win medals, Iraq's taekwondo team will do its utmost to win the first ranks in the Junior International Championship.

Each country can send between five to 10 fighters for the event on April 18-24 in Cairo, and Iraq will deliberate over the greatest number possible for various weights.

"A great number of fighters from various continents will participate in the international championships, which will become the real test for our team," said Saddad al-Mohammed a member of the Iraqi Taekwondo Federation.

"The team will also gain expertise, especially because they will face the best of world's champions," he added.

Iraq sent only seven fighters of various weights to last year's championships in Turkey.
