Japan defeats Iraq within the Asian handball championship

Baghdad, Feb.8 (AKnews) - The Iraqi handball team was defeated by the Japanese team in the opening of the second group of the Asian handball championships in Lebanon.
"the Iraqi national team lost in facing the Japanese team (35 - 21) and lost the first two points in the championship." A member of the Iraqi Central Handball union Abbas Kamel told The Independent National News Agency of Kurdistan (AKnews).
He pointed out that "the Japanese ended the first half of the game by scoring 6 goals more than the Iraqi team and the outcome was (19 - 13)."
The second game of the Iraqi team in the second group of the tournament will be against Bahrain on Tuesday at five pm Baghdad time.
In the first day of the championship in the first group, Saudi Arabia defeated Syria with one goal and the outcome was 23 - 22, while the second meeting within the fourth group Lebanon team won in the tournament over his guest Jordan team 34 - 21 ".
The 14th round of the Asian Cup is currently held in Beirut, Lebanon and 12 teams are participating and were divided into four groups and the three teams that get the first places will be qualified to the World Handball Cup.
