ERBIL, August 22 (AKnews) – The head of the Kurdistan Islamic Union
(KIU) faction said the national gathering among political parties in
Iraq needs preparation and groundwork and this has not yet been done.
Najib
Abdullah said now the efforts of political parties in Iraq begin for
solving the political crisis in the country but he believes the efforts
do not match the depth of the Iraqi political crisis. He added that
preparation is the key to holding a national meeting.
Iraqi MP
from the Kurdistan Blocs Coalition Khaled Shwani announced that the
meeting between political forces will begin in Baghdad after Iraqi
President Jalal Talabani returns.
Talabani has been in Germany
for two months for medical treatment. In a press conference last
Saturday he asked all Iraqi forces to hold a meeting to solve the
current crisis in the country.
Shwani stressed: "All political
parties in Iraq agree that they must solve the current. The Iraqi
constitution, Erbil agreement, the eight points in Talabani's
suggestion, the Erbil and Najaf meetings will all become a basis for the
dialogue and suggestions to solve the crisis."
Shwani believes that the Iraqi political insecurity will be solved soon and the country will return to normality.
