BAGHDAD, Aug. 6 (AKnews) - An MP in the Iraqi Council of Representatives stated Monday that the presidency of the Council of Representatives has yet to specify a date to question the Minister of Electricity Karim Aftan from Iraqiya List.
The oil and energy committee in the Iraqi Council of Representatives stated two days ago that the presidency would determine in yesterday's meeting the date to question the Minister of Electricity.
Mouhammed al-Khalidi said: "The Council of Representatives didn't receive any request from PM Nouri al-Maliki so far."
The oil and energy committee revealed earlier about attaching 30 offenses with the application submitted to the presidency of the Council of Representatives to set a date for questioning the minister.
Aftan held the Ministry of Electricity position as a replacement for outgoing minister Raad Shallal, who revealed during his chairmanship details of the largest electricity corruption file by fake contracts amounting to $1.7bn.
