Iraqi army attacks Peshmarga near Syrian border

ERBIL, July 27 (AKnews)- Two Iraqi brigades assaulted the 8th Brigade of Peshmarga (Kurdistan border guards) near Iraqi-Syrian border early today morning, Kurdish Xedan news agency said.

Kurdish forces in Khapur and Zumar districts have responded to the attack which still continues, the source cited Anwar Haji Osman, deputy for Kurdistan peshmarga minister.

Osman said Iraqi army moved from the Rabia area and advanced towards Qahira district to assault peshmarga forces.
 
He warned if the army did not withdraw, they will have another response and force them to retreat.
