BAGHDAD, July 10 (AKnews)- Kofi Annan, United Nations envoy, arrived in Baghdad today afternoon at an official visit for talks over Syrian crisis.

Kofi AnnanAnnan was received by Hoshyar Zebari, Iraqi foreign minister, a source who demanded anonymity said.

The source added the international envoy will meet with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki over Syrian crisis.

Recently Annan and Syrian president Bashar al-Assad met and announced they have reached a new framework to end the bloodshed in the Syria.

The Western observers believe the new framework does not include any clear provision for Assad's resignation while it stresses the new national government should not include people who threaten the stability of the country.

The Syrian opposition has refused any solution if it does not guarantee ousting Assad.

Only one day after meeting with Assad, Annan set off for talks with Tehran and Baghdad.

Annan who already concluded talks with Tehran announced Iran could help in settling the crisis in Syria.
