MP: Mutlag will not replace Allawi
06/07/2012 10:41ERBIL, July 6 (AKnews)- The reports which allege Iraqiya List Leader Ayad Allawi will be replaced by Saleh Mutlag are "baseless", an Iraqiya MP said.
This is just a propaganda aimed at weakening the Iraqiya position, Wahda al-Jumaili said at a statement of which AKnews has obtained a copy.
The statement added the recent meeting of some top Iraqiya leaders in Amman aimed at discussing the future of Iraq and taking appropriate position with regard to the developments in the Iraqi political arena.
Some Iraqi media outlets said the participants in the meeting also discussed replacing Allawi by Mutlag as a measure to end the repetitive withdrawal of MPs from Iraqiya List.
As the efforts to withdraw confidence from Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki over "constitutional violations" intensified in a signature campaign and through preparations for an interrogation session, some Iraqiya MPs withdrew from the bloc.
