Barzani: We told US, Kurds do not accept delivery of Maliki's military aircrafts
23/04/2012 12:14ERBIL, April 23 (AKnews)- President of Kurdistan Region revealed that he informed the US administration that Kurds will not accept of the delivery of military aircraft to Iraq as long as Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki remains in office.
During a meeting with a group of journalists in Erbil, on Sunday - the 114th anniversary of Kurdish journalism - President Massoud Barzani said he had told the U.S., that Kurds will not accept the delivery of F-16 jets to Iraq as long as al-Maliki was in power.
The president warned again that the country is moving towards dictatorship. He said: "Whatever the price, we can not accept the return of dictatorship to Iraq.
"If we fail to stop this from happening, we will not be with an Iraq ruled by a dictator."
Barzani recently visited the United States, Turkey and other European countries, where he met with senior officials, including President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.
