Maliki sacked his deputy Mutlag
20/12/2011 16:13BAGHDAD, Dec. 20 (AKnews) - Legal adviser to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki told AKnews that the al-Maliki has officially fired his deputy Saleh Mutlag.
The P.M. did not ask the Council of Representatives to hold a vote of no confidence in Mutlag as some media reports said.
He said Article 78 of the Iraqi constitution authorizes the Prime Minister to sack his deputies and ministers. However, the decision will be finalized by the Council.
On Sunday Mulag called the PM "a dictator".
