Beirut,Feb. 8 (AKnews) A Lebanese Minister confirmed today that the Lebanese President Michail Sulaiman determines whether Lebanon participates in the coming Arab summit in Libya or not , and he expected the decision to be taken in consensus by all parties.
"The participation of Lebanon in the Arab summit wihich will be held in Libya is up to the Lebanese President Michel Suleiman," and predicted that "The decision will be taken by consensus among all parties in the country." The Lebanese minister Adnan Sayyed Hasan told The Independent National News Agency of Kurdistan (AKnews).
In another context,Sayyed Hussein pointed out that "The reforms which will be applied on the municipal elections law, though it is not enough, will be positive," he added ," and at the same time , passing the women's quota is good but must be coupled with discentralization administration, balanced development and other reforms" .
He stressed on that "The examination of these reforms will continue next Wednesday in details in the Ministers Council, pointing out that "adopting the reforms will allow the elections to be held on time."
On the other hand Sayyed Hussein ruled out taking the reforms issue to be discussed on the national dialogue table, expecting it to "remain in the Ministers Council and The Parliament to agree on it."
He added that "The adoption of comparative advantage in the elections and dividing the municipalities in the major cities will allow the elections to be held on time."
It should be noted that the Lebanese Ministers Council skipped away in 5 sessions the reforms of the electoral law proposed by the Interior Minister Ziad Baroud, without approving on it amid the concerns of postponement of municipal elections.
