Qaradagh fire still not under control

ERBIL, August 22 (AKnews) – The general directorate of Suli forest said
the that broke out of during the last three days of Ramadan Eid is not
yet under control.
The fire started in forests, orchards and
grasslands in Goyzha area and Qaradagh surroundings. A large area was
torched. Another fire burnt a large area in Qaradagh.

Rashid from the directorate said: “We are until now unable to control
the fire because police crews are finding it hard to move in the area
due to the rugged area.
"Due to a cut in the electricity wire,
half a donum of grassland in Goyzha was burnt on Sunday but we could
control the fire. The same electricity line was cut in the same place
today but fortunately this did not lead to fire.
"So far the cause of the fire and the area of the burnt land has not been discovered."
