1,300 Syrians forced to escape to Turkey

ERBIL, August 7 (AKnews) – Turkey’s Foreign Ministry announced that 1,300 Syrian citizens fled to the country overnight, and a Syrian brigadier general was among the refugees.


The number of Syrian asylum seekers in Turkey has reached 47,500 people, reported Reuters.


According to Reuters there were 11 military officers among the new refugees.


The ministry said this number in proof of the severe and bad situation of human rights in Syria. 


Turkish officials are expected to see more refugees from Syria.


According to unofficial sources, 18,000 people have been killed over the last 17 months in Syria.
