ERBIL, July 16 (AKnews) - Turkish media sources said Monday that Turkish authorities opened an investigation about the violence that took place in the predominantly Kurdish Diyarbakir province after authorities banned the gathering organized by the Peace and Democracy Kurdish Party on Saturday.
According to Turkish Anatolia news agency, the public prosecutor in Diyarbakir opened an investigation about the events.
Turkish security forces used water cannons and fired tear gas during clashes with protesters who threw stones in response. The clashes led to the arrest of 63 people in addition to the injury of seven people, including Agder Bruin Buldan, an MP in the Turkish Parliament from the Peace and Democracy Party.
