13 casualties in Nineveh bombing

NINEVEH, July 9 (AKnews) – At least 13 people have been either killed or injured in attacks in the volatile province of Nineveh, north of Baghda, on Monday.
In one incident, a bomb attached to a civilian went off in eastern Mosul city’s al-Zuhour area that killed three people and injured two others. There were two people in the car that police said they were high ranking Iraqi army officers.
One of the men died immediately while his brother was seriously injured in the explosion. Two other civilians, who were near the car, were killed in the explosion and another person in the area was injured.
IN a separate attack, three Iraqi soldiers were killed and a fourth one alongside four other civilians was injured when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) struck an Iraqi army unit.
The explosion, in Mosul’s eastern al-Tahrir area, also caused extensive damage to the nearby stores.
