Emergency hospital in Erbil receives people with breathing difficulties due to dust storms
09/07/2012 13:14ERBIL, July 9 (AKnews) - A medical source at the Emergency Hospital in Erbil province revealed today that 25 people were admitted in just two hours due to the wave of dust that swept the Kurdistan Region last night.
An anonymous official at the hospital said: "The people who arrived at the hospital were suffering from difficulty in breathing. Most of are old and we expect the number of people to increase in the next few hours."
The director of the meteorological and earthquakes department in the region Hassan Wahab said: "The hot low pressure coming from the Indian subcontinent caused a strong dust storm in the Kurdistan Region and we expect the impact of the storm to continue until tomorrow evening.
"Visibility in some places will range between one to two kilometers, while the visibility will decrease in other places to 500m, especially in Erbil city and its outskirts."
