Erbil police deny kidnapping of child in city

ERBIL, July 9 (AKnews) – Erbil police have denied that a child was
kidnapped in the city, adding that media reports of the case are fake.
Erbil
citizen Umed Ibrahim said on some media channels that unknown armed men
attacked him and his wife with bricks at 12:20am in Ayinda
neighbourhood, north Erbil and after hurting the couple the men
kidnapped a three-year-old child.
Ibrahim added that the attackers were driving government cars and some of them were wearing security uniforms.

police spokesperson Karwan Abdul Karim said the husband and wife went
to Kasnazan police and complained after the incident.

Karim added that the wife was in a previous marriage and had a baby
before meeting Umed Ibrahim. The couple later separated and the
ex-husband took his child yesterday and did not kidnap it.
The courts have yet to decide whether the child should remain with the father or the mother.
