BAGHDAD, June 20 (AKnews)- The Iraqi House of Representatives will take new steps against government if the concrete blocks to protect the House are not restored until Friday.
The 48-hour deadline announced for the government to re-circle the House building with the blocks terminates tomorrow, said Akram Obeidi, a spokesperson for House Speaker Osama al-Nujaifi.
He added failure to restore the blocks will lead to a strike by the employees and paralyzes the works in the House.
The strike will continue until the government responds. The House may also take other measures to force the government fulfill the demand, Obeidi added.
He did not expand on the other measures.
Last week a squad from Baghdad Operations Command enforced a decision to remove the blocks. Many MPs regarded it as a political decision.
