Six policemen and soldiers killed in Nineveh roadside bombings
13/06/2012 14:49NINEVEH, June 13 (AKnews)- Six people were killed and ten wounded today after military and police convoys hit roadside bombs in Nineveh province.
Three soldiers were killed and four more wounded when the convoy carrying them hit an improvised explosive device (IED) near Ibn Sina Hospital, to the west of Mosul, Brig. Mohammed al-Jobouri of Nineveh Operations Command said.
Brig. Jobouri added another roadside device exploded a police convoy in Faysaliyah neighborhood, near Nineveh Agricultural Directorate.
The blast left three policemen dead and six people wounded, including two civilians.
Coordinated bombings and attacks ripped through a number of Iraqi cities today. The blasts and mortar attacks have left behind at least 80 causalities.
The attacks are carried out as the political situation in Iraq is deteriorating amid escalating tensions.
