ERBIL, April 24 (AKnews) – At least one Turkish soldier and one village guard have been killed by the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) rebels in clashes in Bingol province, southeast of Turkey, Turkish media reported.

Eight others, among them three village guards have also been injured in the clashes that took place in Genc district of Bingol province.

Village guards are Pro-Turkish government Kurdish militia armed by the Turkish government to provide support to the Turkish army against the PKK. Kurds consider these guards as "traitors"
