Drug dealer captured in Kirkuk
30/03/2012 10:28KIRKUK, March 30 (AKnews)- A man, who is suspected to be part of a gang who smuggled more than 1,000 boxes of an illegal sedating drug, has been arrested.
The Asayish (Kurdish security) and Chamchamal's Quality Control Team made the arrest after confiscating boxes of illicit Tramadol capsules smuggled from Jordan into the country, said Jawdat Mohammed-Saleh of Asayish Forces for Western Sulaimaniyah.
"The dealers are from Sulaimaniyah and Erbil and one of them was arrested three days ago. The rest will also be arrested soon," the officer said.
Earlier Zimnako al-Omar, chief of the Bani Maqan border checkpoint, said that Quality Control Teams had confiscated over 1,000 boxes of the Tamadol capsules within a week.
He added, only the Ministry of Health is allowed to demand these capsules.
