Militant killed while placing bomb in Mandali

DIYALA, Feb. 23 (AKnews) – A militant was killed on Thursday while trying to place an IED in Diyala province’s Mandali district, east of Baghdad.

The militant was trying to place the bomb on a road located to the north of Mandali that is frequented by the Iraqi Army Forces. But the bomb went off while he was placing it killing him immediately, Abdul Hussein Abbas, Mandali District Commissioner told AKnews.

Iraq’s capital Baghdad and the surrounding areas witnessed some of the bloodiest attacks this morning where more than a dozen bombings killed over 40 people and left over 10 others injured.
