NINEVEH, Feb. 21 (AKnews) - 3 separate attacks by unidentified gunmen in Nineveh have left one police major and 5 officers dead.
Brig. Abdul-Kareem al-Jobouri, from Nineveh Operations Command, said today that unidentified gunmen shot dead a police colonel in the Qiyara district, south of Mosul and then fled.
One of his guards was also killed.
Yesterday evening, in the Karama district, east of Mosul, an armed group attacked a checkpoint killing three policemen instantly.
While an off-duty policeman was murdered yesterday in Yarmuk district, west of Mosul, by gunmen driving in a private car.
