Breaches in the ranks of the security services
19/01/2012 11:02BAGHDAD, Jan. 19 (AKnews) - Iraq's security forces are stricken with officers affiliated with or aiding and abetting terrorist groups.
The Director-General Terrorism and Organized Crime Director-General said on Wednesday that the security services lack internal investigators.
Major General Abdul-Hussein al-Amiri told AKnews the Directorate of Internal Affairs in responsible for vetting Interior Ministry and security services employees and verifying their identities.
"We asked the Directorate to investigate security services employees. Many members of the police and the army are affiliated to a terrorist groups or facilitate their work."
