Bombing in Fallujah, policeman killed

Anbar, March 9 (AKnews) - A policeman was killed and another was wounded in a bomb explosion at an Iraqi police patrol at Amiriyah center south of Fallujah, according to a source in Fallujah police. "An improvised explosive device was placed on the road side in Fuleihat area, targeted a police patrol, killed one policeman and wounded another as well as the damage done to the patrol". The source did not mention any other details, saying only that "the dead man was taken to the legal medicine and the wounded to the nearby hospital for treatment". In another context, the police arrested a leader of an armed group and seized a large cache of weapons and explosives inside his home at Amiriyah center south of the city. "The arrested person is involved in violent acts against civilians and employees of the Iraqi security services and the forces were also able to detect the hiding place of weapons and explosives inside his home during the search." Fallujah, one of the biggest cities of Anbar province, is 45 kilometres west of Baghdad. rn/ae AKnews
