Minister rejects alleged closure of Dahuk library and labs
Monday, February 8th 2010 4:26 PM
Dahuk, Feb. 8 (AKnews) – Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research denied Sunday the closure of Dahuk University’s library and labs.
Dahuk University’s Directorate of library and Labs has not been closed, rather it is the Ministry’s Directorate of Library which has been closed, and that is because the universities can buy their own books for their libraries rather than teh ministry, Dilawar Alaaddin said.
Universities know better what books they need to buy therefore they do not need a directorate of library in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, according to Alaaddin.
On Sunday evening a media outlet in Kurdistan Region reported Dahuk University’s Directorate of Library and Labs had been closed over corruption.
