Erbil int'l construction and environ expo to open next week

ERBIL, Sept. 11 (AKnews) – The fifth Erbil's International Construction and Environment Protection Equipments Exhibition will run Sept.17-20 in the city, said an official.
The chief executive of Erbil International Fair, Hardi Omer, said so far 500 companies from 21 states confirmed their participation in the expo.
Omar said Estonia will participate for the first time along with Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, UAE, Jordan, Belgium, China, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Iran, Italy, South Korean, Britain and India. Most of the companies are from Iran, Germany and Italy.
The official added generally the exhibition consists of two parts: construction and energy.
Idris Ramadan, economy tutor at Salahaddin University, stressed "The crucial point is we should pay greater attention to production sector in the Kurdistan Region not opening exhibitions.
Nevertheless, he did not undervalue "the advantages of holding expos in showing the world Kurdistan's stability and economic boom."
In an earlier account to AKnews, Economist Amir Saleem said opening the exhibition is one of the ways a country utilizes to introduce its market to world or encourage international companies to enter the country.
He continued the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has been working closely in the oil and gas sector in the last few years and now it needs oil giants more than ever to invest in the region so as to benefit from their experience and improve its infrastructure.
