Iraq to deliver Boeing jets by end of 2012
12/04/2012 11:55BAGHDAD, April 12 (AKnews) - Iraq will receive 40 U.S. manufactured Boeing jets by end of this year and four Canadian Bombardier planes.
The Iraqi government announced today its purchase of $5.9bn (IQD) of 40 jets from American Boeing - both the Boeing 738 and 787 planes - for Iraqi Airways.
In December, the Ministry of Transportation will deliver the fleet of Boeing aircraft, deputy minister Kareem al-Nouri said.
The four remaining Canadian Bombardier planes - out of a total 10 previously purchased - will also arrive in the next few months.
He added the Ministry is now training personnel who will operate and work with the jets.
