ERBIL, Feb. 20 (AKnews) - A bill for constructing 5,000 flats and houses for renters and those on low incomes in Kurdistan is waiting for the final approval of MPs, said Kurdistan Minister for Housing and Reconstruction.

Kamaran Ahmed Abdullah said the flats, which are expected to be constructed during this year, are for disadvantaged families who have not benefited from governmental lands and do not own any sort of housing unit.

The process of securing one of the properties will begin six months from the completion date. Those who are successful will pay back the government in installments across 25 years.

The project is expected to continue in the coming years.
