ERBIL, September 8 (AKnews) – Kurdish poet Marf Omer Gul believes that a
new market of cheap and low quality poems exists in the Kurdistan
Region.
Gul, who is the dean of law and political science in Suli
University, said: "Kurdish poetry is in a very poor condition and if
the poems were originally like that I could write tens of poems every
day."
Gul criticized today's poetry and said: "The poem's language is very poor and written in very low quality.
"Some
newspapers and magazines do not deserve to publish some work. They
release poor quality work. This crossed into literature as well. The
things that are called poetry and literature today have low quality.
"Writing
is only for friendship groups these days. They describe low quality
writing as good and release it in their newspapers. This confused me and
people with similar voices."
