Cairo, July 27 (AKnews)- A delegation from the Kurdistan Region Ministry of Culture and Youth will participate in the Fifth International Sufi Music Festival, Samaa in Cairo.
The event organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and Culture Development Fund (CDF) runs 10-20 of Muslim holy month of Ramadan (July 29-Aug.7)
A group from the Kurdish ministry will arrive on Friday to participate in the festival by singing religious songs related to Ramadan, said CDF Chairman Mohammed Abu-Saada.
Saada added the Kurdish delegation will perform along Sufi musicians and groups from 20 Arab and Islamic countries.
The official said this year’s event will include memorial tributes for religious figures, Sheikh al-Azhar Ahmed al-Tayyeb, Pope Shenouda III of the Coptic Church, Sheikh Taha al-Fashni, a pioneer of religious singing in Egypt and the innovative writer Kheyri al-Shalbi.
